Report Selection

To begin building your perfect report, select one of the reports provided in the report categories. It is important to select the report that contains the data most relevant to the question or questions you want to be answered in your customized report. Once you have identified the report you would like to customize, click the "Configure & Run Report" link to begin customizing your new report.

EXAMPLE REPORT LIST:

Customizing a Report

You have the ability to create a customized report using any of our provided reports as the initial template. Customizing your reports allow you to tailor the data you get based on your business, your goals, key metrics, etc. Additionally, you can reuse your custom reports and simply rerun them for different date ranges instead of configuring a new custom report each time.

Customization Options
There are four customization options that you can use to configure a report to meet your needs.

Naming Your Report

While every report comes with a pre-defined name, you have the ability to edit the name of your report to something more memorable or accurate to your specific needs. When naming your new report, use a name that will clearly indicate the purpose of the report for future reference.

EDIT REPORT NAME:

Select a Date Range

Specify the date range of your report by selecting the start and end date. By default, we set the date range for the current day. To expand this, simply click on the start date and end date fields and select your date range. Note: selecting a longer date range can increase the time it takes for your report to complete.

SELECT START AND END DATE:

Specify Group By Columns

Depending on the report you have selected, you will be presented with a section of columns that you can choose to select to use to group the data. Each report will have at least one required column for which the data will be aggregated. For each additional column you select in this section, your data will be aggregated by that column.

For example, within the Assignment Cost Report, "Assignment" is selected as a required group by column because the data rolls up all of the costs by assignment. You have the option to also select "Date" as a group by column. Doing so would give you a report that aggregates the data by assignment by day.

GROUP BY SECTION:

Note: not all reports will have a Group By section.

Adding Report Filters

The Filter Dimensions section allows you to select one or more entities to narrow your report. This functionality is helpful when you want to monitor a specific project, workflow, assignment, etc. Using the filters will enable you to narrow the data returned in the report to only the entities you select. Each report has a different list of available dimensions to filter by. To add filters, simply begin typing to see a list of available options.

REPORT FILTERS:

Note: not all reports will have a Filter Dimensions section.

Rerunning Reports

Within Project Center, you have the ability to rerun previously run reports. The goal of this functionality is to allow you to easily and quickly rerun your most useful reports on any regular interval to fit your needs.

My Reports Page

Once you have configured and run a report, the completed report will show up on the My Reports page. The My Reports page will display up to the last 30 reports that you have run, sorted in order of the most recent at the top. To rerun any report, you simply need to click on the "Rerun Report" link and select a new date range, all other customizations will be maintained unless you choose to modify them.

MY REPORTS:

You can configure reports to focus in on specific projects, assignments, teams, contributors, or workflows. This page can be a very useful tool in allowing you to quickly get the data you need without configuring a new report each time.
